Dive in with me as I explore a range of topics in endurance sports, traveling and racing, Meniere’s Disease, Pulmonary Embolisms, and other stuff I experience in life.
Simply put anything longer the 100m dash on the track is an endurance sport. If you’re mostly using an aerobic base then you are enjoying an endurance sport. My endurance sports focus is primary on all distances of triathlon, road and trail running races over 1 mile, road racing for cycling, and open water swimming.
Because so much of the popular literature doesn’t do a whole lot to help people. Most athletes (and all the newbies who won’t call themselves athletes) can only get by for so long on popular literature. Reaching goals takes more insightful information than a magazine article. It takes research, trail and error, and boots on the ground type experience. I talk about coaching because I love it and I want to people to have better information.
Yeah, I’ve got those. And I research them for coaching. I’ve also started my own training from scratch twice now after major health issues that had nothing to do with my lifestyle. I love writing about health issues, what causes them, what they do to you, and how to work with them. I spend a lot of time on my own issues; Meniere’s Disease and Pulmonary Embolisms (blood clots).
I’ve been fortunate enough to move a few times and race triathlon across a number of states. I’ve also traveled a fair amount for training camps and coaching. Sometimes Christa and I like to go somewhere just to enjoy it too (although this doesn’t happen nearly as often we’d like – but we are working to change this).
